What type of toothpaste and toothbrushes should I use?

Do I really need to floss?

Yes, you need to clean around your teeth daily to clear food and plague from between teeth and under the gumline.

What are the early signs of dental trouble?

Mouth sores, jaw pain, redness, tooth sensitivity, and dry mouth.

Why do I need dental exams?

Regular exams help spot trouble early to prevent bigger and more costly treatments later.

Are dental x-rays safe and needed?

Your dentist should take a few x-rays as possible. Sometimes they are needed to diagnose an initial problem. However, today’s advancements in technology mean today’s digital x-rays release much less radiation and are safer than the past.

What are braces?

Braces are used by orthodontists to help you improve the look and feel of your smile.

Do braces hurt?

Braces most often do not hurt. You may feel a small amount of discomfort for couple days as your teeth, gums, cheeks, and mouth get used to your new braces.

What should I do if a bracket gets loose?

Sometimes a bracket may move or slide back and forth on the wire. If tissue irritation occurs, cover the loose bracket with orthodontic with orthodontic wax to help the sore area heal.

Can you be too old for braces?

No, age is not a factor. So long as the gums and bone support your teeth are healthy one can get orthodontic or braces treatment at any age.
